Solar Generator Working Capital Facility

Three years ago, at the Access to Energy Institute, we embarked on a mission to help Nigerians get rid of millions of small fossil fuel generators – that are noisy, expensive, hazardous to people’s health, and emit large amounts of carbon.

We have developed a solar alternative, and the first 1,000 solar generators have been installed by our local distribution partners in Nigeria in 2022. We’re now at over 1,600 systems dispersed to distributors – and counting… Our customers are experiencing a greatly improved quality of life and are freed from noise, fumes and the hassle of procuring fuel.

However, the problem that needs to be overcome before the solar generator becomes a solution for everyone is the availability of working capital for distributors.
