Prospect at Innovate4Climate
At The World Bank’s Innovate4Climate conference, we had the honour of presenting Prospect to key stakeholders in the carbon market and climate finance sectors.
Stefan Zelazny, Prospect’s Project Lead, and Matthieu Rigal, Senior Software Developer, highlighted Prospect’s potential to transform carbon emission tracking and carbon credit trading through the provision of transparent data and reliable dMRV.
They also demonstrated how innovative tools such as the Access to Energy Institute’s “SLEEK Meter” – a low-cost, precise energy meter designed for challenging, low-connectivity environments – can be seamlessly integrated with Prospect. This enables electrification initiatives in remote areas without internet access to digitally monitor systems, verify impact, and participate transparently in carbon markets.
Currently, many climate change mitigation projects in the global South cannot actively participate in global carbon markets due to massive financial and administrative barriers. Digital tracking of emission savings can increase the level of trust in emission reductions credited as well as significantly reduce entry barriers and costs.
We are encouraged by the strong interest from stakeholders across public and private sectors, spanning finance, markets, policy, and technology, in how Prospect can facilitate the scaling of high-integrity carbon markets. We are committed to support efforts to make carbon markets more transparent, inclusive, and impactful – while working to unlock new financing pathways that advance a just energy transition.
