dMRV for Clean Cooking for 500k households in the DRC
28 Jul 2026
500,000 households. 7 provinces. One platform.
We're excited to announce the successful launch of Prospect as the digital Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (dMRV) platform for the clean cooking component of PIFORES, the DRC's Forest and Savanna Restoration Investment Program.
The Results-Based Financing (RBF) program aims to reach 2.5 million people across 7 provinces.
Delivered on time and on budget, the platform was developed through close collaboration between the PIFORES Coordination Unit UC-PIF, the National Agency for Electrification and Energy Services in Rural and Peri-urban Areas (ANSER), Green Max Capital, and the Prospect team, with support from the World Bank and the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP).
How Prospect supports PIFORES
As PIFORES's digital MRV backbone, Prospect manages the full RBF workflow – from sales reporting and verification to subsidy claims and disbursement.
The platform securely centralizes and anonymizes sales, payment, and claims data while providing real-time dashboards that give operators, verifiers, and program managers full visibility into:
- program performance
- verification status
- eligibility issues
- financial flows
- geographic coverage
Key benefits
- Greater transparency – A single platform connects operators, verifiers, and program managers, enabling data-driven decision-making.
- Improved efficiency – Automated workflows and real-time eligibility checks reduce manual work, accelerate verification, and speed up subsidy payments.
- Secure by design – End-to-end encryption, controlled key sharing, and role-based access protect sensitive personal data.
- Financial accountability – Integrated PAYGO monitoring and claims management improve oversight of results-based payments.
- Built for scale – Standardized reporting and transparent data make it easier to demonstrate impact and mobilize future climate finance.
This launch marks a major step forward for clean cooking in the Democratic Republic of Congo. By providing transparent, secure, and real-time monitoring of program results, Prospect strengthens the country's efforts to combat deforestation, enhances RBF implementation, and helps mobilize additional investment for clean cooking initiatives. It is a powerful example of how digital infrastructure accelerates climate action and delivers measurable development impact.
