A2EI Releases AAM Connect Smartphone App

The A2EI has released AAM Connect, a smartphone app that enables customers to monitor their solar system’s performance and track the live status of their AAM hybrid solar generator. It allows users to check on their payment plan, keep their system up-to-date and facilitates easy troubleshooting.

The live data available to customers includes solar input, grid input, load, and battery voltage.
For customers who are paying off their systems in instalments, the app will inform them about the remaining time until their next payment is due. Additionally, the solar generator’s firmware will be kept up-to-date via the app to ensure optimal performance as we continue to optimize our AAM systems. Future features of the app will encompass information about system health, remaining time till the battery is fully charged or needs recharging, as well as the ability to customize further settings.

The AAM solar generators have been distributed as part of our “Solar Killed the Generator Star” (SKGS) project, benefitting almost 1,000 customers in Nigeria to date – while being piloted in a number of other countries. The solar systems are primarily purchased by local business owners who, in order to power their shops during the persistent power outages of the national grid, previously relied on noisy, polluting and expensive to maintain fuel generators. By releasing the app, we are further improving customers’ user experience, giving them more control of their own power source – and are taking another step towards replacing Nigeria’s millions of fuel generators with affordable, reliable, and clean solar alternatives.
